TrustSphere: Leveraging Dark Data for Business Insights and Productivity Gains

Cognitive computing is increasingly enabling professionals to make more intelligent decisions with greater degrees of confidence. Much of the innovation in this field can be attributed to the IBM Watson team and the data sources they leverage. One of these data sources is supplied by TrustSphere. TrustSphere adds rich analytics and insights to Watson from enterprise communication systems and archives.

This idea of leveraging an organization’s social graph and integrating into a variety of business solutions is one of the reasons which prompted Manish Goel and Steve Allam to establish TrustSphere. They recognized that relationship data which lay dormant within an organization’s existing systems were a rich yet untapped source of insight. Once injected into existing business processes, the enterprise social graph would improve the relevance and quality of the data upon which decisions were formed. Further R&D along these lines lead to their becoming an IBM partner with unique expertise in the field of Relationship Analytics. “Both organizations share common values regarding innovation and the responsibility around respecting and protecting privacy and security of business data,” explained Manish Goel, CEO of Trustsphere.

TrustSphere facilitates unique insights for a variety of business processes which are specifically being applied to IBM Collaboration Solutions. The end result for IBM customers is an increase in ROI. For instance, TrustSphere offers Links With in, which is an embedded search and intelligence capability that integrates with IBM Verse, IBM Connections and IBM Connections Mobile. It utilizes TrustSphere’s unique Relationship Analytics platform to assist sellers find the best path to a prospect from within their own company. “TrustSphere’sLinks within uses Relationship Analytics to transform cold calling into warm introductions, making the sales teams much more successful. Since warm introductions have five times the likelihood of securing a meeting than do cold calls, sales and business development professionals find this tool simple and highly effective” adds Manish.
TrustSphere’s Relationship Analytics platform for Kenexa Talent Suite is another offering which aids new employees accelerate their time to productivity. This is accomplished through the provision of an 'on boarding report’ which outlines the most important relationships they need to focus on in the first few months. This is derived from understanding a predecessor’s key relationships. “With staff turnover at around 20-25 percent per-annum, the on boarding report is a way of ensuring institutional knowledge is retained with regards to key relationships and the company’s relationship assets are protected. It also adds significantly to the top line as new sales reps can quickly pick up where their predecessors left off and smoothen the impact of a sales rep’s departure on existing customers,” informed Manish. IBM’s Talent Suite and IBM Kenexa Talent Insights also leverage TrustSphere’s People Analytics capabilities. Combining IBM’s Talent Suite and IBM Kenexa survey data with TrustSphere’s relationship data enables clients to achieve more effective talent management.
